Members Nights

Members Night & Adult Evenings Glasgow Ski Centre

Dear Member, As we begin the new season, we welcome all our members to the Club, and hope we will see you for lessons or practice sessions on a regular basis. This newsletter will bring you up to speed with what's happening at the Club and all the holidays over the next period. Sunday 1st of October - Great Scottish Run We have one unexpected interruption in the form of the Great Scottish Run. To all the runners out there, good luck and have a great day, we are a fan. However unfortunately the route has changed this year, something we have only found out by luck! The route for the first time is running past our front door, Dumbreck Road, which will close access to our facility from that direction. We have been in communication with the Course Managers, and they have agreed to map out an alternative access route to the Ski Club. Customers can access the Club coming off the M8 at junction 24, the Govan off ramp at Asda. From there you will require to park at the Sports Centre and walk through the park to the Ski Club. We are desperately avoiding cancelling another week of lessons, and can only apologise for this inconvenience. We are happy to chat through access on the phone, and can offer catch up lessons to anyone wishing to miss the lesson. Dates for your information are - 23/24/25 September - No Group Lessons - September Weekend. 29 September - Slope Closed for the SSSA Schools Races 3PM - Close 30 September - Slope Closed for the GSR Race Event 12noon - Close 01 October - LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO PLAN ACCESS- Great Scottish Run 14/15 October - No Group Lessons - October School Week 21/22 October - No Group Lessons - October School Week 29 October - Club AGM 17/18 November - Annual Equipment Sale - Not to be missed October Ski School - 16th - 20th of October Bookings are filling up, don't miss out. Practice Sessions

There has been a small change to our practice sessions. Non-members must book online to use the slopes for practice. Members are not required to book for a practice, and can rock up on the day. Although please note there is no practice sessions when there is a Rangers football game on at Ibrox. It's also worth checking our website for events that can affect practice sessions.

The minimum level for practice sessions are -

Skiing - level 3

Snowboarding - Level 2 (only with Instructor recommendation )

Adult skiing Evenings - Wednesday Evenings

We are delighted to bring you a time in the week where adults have sole access to the slopes, every Wednesday evening from 7 - 10pm.

We hope this will encourage adults to improve technique either by having lessons, group and private or by practicing with family and friends.

We hope to see many of you enjoy the Club on a Wednesday, watch out for events popping up on these nights.

Housekeeping -

In the interest of safety can we please ask customers to refrain from taking food and drink into the Ski Store. Minimise adults accompanying children into the ski store, and kindly use the one way system to through the ski store to exit the building. These small things have contributed to less falls, trips, spillages and accidents, and we thank you for supporting this.
